icelandIceland — February 2014, 1 week — I went on an Iceland adventure with my husband and some good friends. We did a glacier walk, saw the northern lights, and enjoyed checking out Iceland culture!
Caribbean: Cozumel, Jamaica, & Grand Cayman — February 2013, 1 week — I went on a Caribbean Cruise with my husband and toddler Emerson (Baby Oren didn’t arrive until April!). We had a blast swimming with the dolphins, checking out a turtle farm, going to the beach, and playing aboard the ship.
Nashville, TN — Summer 2012, 1 week — I went to Nashville with 8 students for the National Technology Students Association conference. We stayed in the awesome Gaylord Opryland Hotel, saw a show at the Grand Ol’ Opry, went to a waterpark, checked out downtown Nashville, and obviously participated in lots of events with TSA at the conference.
Washington — Summer 2011 — Ok… so I didn’t go anywhere this summer. But I did embark on an adventure called “Birth and Parenting”. In July 2011, our son Emerson was born!
Costa Rica — Summer 2010, 1 week — Spent a high adventure vacation with my husband and brother hiking near an active volcano, relaxing in natural hot springs, zip-lining, canyoneering, white water rafting, ATVing, and cave exploring
Spain — Summer 2009, 6 weeks — Completed a 4 day bike tour with my husband outside Girona, traveled around Barcelona and Madrid for another 1.5 weeks, and then spent 4 weeks in Sevilla taking intensive Spanish courses
Thailand/Laos/South Korea — Summer 2008, 8 weeks — Volunteered at a Wildlife Rescue Center, Taught English to 4/5/6th graders, visited Laos and had a 5-hour tour on a 12-hour layover in South Korea

Peru— Summer 2006, 7 weeks — Volunteered at an AIDS support clinic and taught English. I finally put those 6 years of middle and high school spanish to good use! On this trip I lived with a host family who treated me like their own and helped me help others in any way I could.
Kenya — Summer 2005, 10 weeks — Volunteered at an orphanage with 150+ kids at Huruma Children’s Home in Ngong. This was my first time traveling abroad without a group or family. It was a life changing experience that I will never forget that opened my eyes to other cultures, my blessings, and to the fact that I hunger to learn more about different places and different people.
London and France — Summer 2004, 3 weeks — Visited family in London and studied the French education system in France ; I went paragliding off a mountain, ate lots of cheese, and played authentic bocce ball!
